about

Longtime friends, tour mates, and RhymeThink collaborators, Cee Reality & Kay the Aquanaut, are excited to drop their new full-length album, ‘Before the Dog, After Humanity’.

These two wrote, produced, tracked, and mixed their first joint album together during a five day span in late September/October, 2023 while on tour in Ontario.
This project will be dropped physically & tangibly next Summer (2024) when the RhymeThink collective heads back out on tour for their yearly hoopla. But, for now, ‘Before the Dog, After Humanity’ is a Free/PWYC download, released as a token of appreciation to anybody in need of some new music amidst these heavy times.
All proceeds that are generously donated will be recycled back into the collective’s studio space. Your generosity will only allow for more revolutionary music to made.
RhymeThink’s focus as a collective is creating anti-capitalist, anti-colonial, anti-fascist soundtracks that inspire those with a fist up, organizing, strategizing, and fighting against any system of oppression, repression, exploitation, genocide, etc. We thank you in advance, and hope this new album can help to inspire everybody that listens to keep that fist up in the face of dark times. 2023 has been an intense year, and this is our gift to those in need of some inspiration.

The concept?
The concept for ‘Before the Dog, After Humanity’ stems from a conversation that the RhymeThink crew were having while posted up on a front porch in Hamilton, Ontario. The collective were discussing the evolutionary nature of the Urban Racoon, and it’s ability to thrive amidst the chaos of humanity’s concrete jungle. The adaptability of this naturally individualized organism to evolve into an organized pack for the feasibility of survival in the modern world, this is was the idea that spawned the focus of this project. As a result of this conversation, Kay began to scheme on the idea of the Racoon as the protagonist of this budding piece of art.
The scientific name for the Racoon genus is Procyon. With that in mind, the genus Procyon can be translated into “dog like” or “before the dog.”.
Written within the concept of a modern specie survival soundtrack, ‘Before the Dog, After Humanity’ focusses on the absolute need for humanity to use the Racoon’s collectivist evolution for survival as inspiration in the face of end times.

13 new tracks! Turn it up, get hyped, find your inner raccoon, and keep that fist in the sky with fire in your heart.

Even in the face of state & private oppression, repression, exploitation, and depression, we’re hoping that this new album can help to entertain & inspire folks amidst this heavy burden of justice. Even if just for a minute.
Just know that solidarity stands with all of us being inspired to fight together, and we’ve got your back. 2023 is just the beginning of the fight. Humanity & the world needs every single one of us working together collectively to rally against the capitalists, colonialists, and fascists in the face of individualized technocracy. Just like the Urban Racoon.

From Cee, Kay, & the entire RhymeThink collective, we love y’all, and keep your heads & fists raised high amidst the chaos. We’ve got this.
